Third College of Engineering Alumni Meeting: 18 May, 2016

Sponsored by the Rector of King Saud University Prof. Dr. Badran AlOmar, the College Vice Deanship for Development and Quality organized the "Third College of Engineering Alumni Meeting" on the evening of Wednesday, 18 May 2016 at King Saud University's main lobby, as part of efforts carried out by the college to strengthen the relationship and communication with its alumni. The meeting was honored by the presence of the President of "The Communications and Information Technology Comission," Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Ruwais, along with about 150 alumni, in addition to the Vice Rector for Educational Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Othman, the College Dean Prof. Dr. Khalid Alhumaizi, the college vice deans and department chairmen, in addition to a number of college faculty and administrators.

 
The ceremony began with a welcoming word by the college dean, followed by a word delivered by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Othman on behalf of the university rector. Dr. Al-Ruwais then delivered a short speech centered around his practical and scientific experiences as well as his vision regarding the status and prospects of the college of engineering and the services it currently offers to society. Dr Waleed Zahid, the Vice Dean for Development and Quality then discussed the objectives of the alumni meeting and the expected support by college alumni, as well as posing the idea of establishing an "Alumni Council", which will serve to organize the meeting on an annual basis. Dr. Zahid finally opened the door for comments and dialog which lasted for about an hour. The ceremony was concluded with an open dinner.
